As a part of the project entitled “Comprehensive measures to improve the energy efficiency of the buildings of Primary School No. 4 and Technical School No. 1 in Żory” co-financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 on June 13 this year in the Science and Technology Park Euro Centrum Spółka z o.o. a study visit was held in Katowice, the participants of which were teachers from educational institutions in Żory. Some of the participants of the study visit will run interest groups for students in the field of ecology and renewable energy in the new school year.
The important part of the stay at the Euro Centrum Science and Technology Park was visiting the Modern Heating Techniques Training Center and the Solar Systems Testing Center operating there.
As part of the visit, a lecture was also given on technologies used in low-energy and passive construction on the example of the Euro Centrum Park. The visit also included advice on technology diffusion, i.e. the dissemination of information on new technologies and improved techniques in the field of renewable energy sources. Workshops on the energy transformation of schools were also conducted. The teachers also visited the passive building and learned about the energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions used in it.
The conducted educational and informational activities are aimed at raising the ecological awareness of the inhabitants of Żory by increasing knowledge, changing thinking and behavior towards the identified local problem related to energy efficiency or the use of RES
