The city of \u017bory concluded an agreement with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Warsaw for co-financing the project entitled \u201cComprehensive activities to improve the energy efficiency of the buildings of Primary School No. 4 and Technical School No. 1 in \u017bory\u201d. The main objective of the project is to reduce CO2 emissions, increase the share of energy generated in RES and increase public awareness of energy efficiency. In the Technical School No. 1 im. Nicolaus Copernicus in \u017bory, a press conference devoted to this project was held.<\/p>\n
The conference opening the project was attended by:\u00a0Adrian Lubszczyk<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 head of the Department of Promotion, Culture and Sport of the City of \u017bory,\u00a0Joanna Szerzy\u0144ska-Grabowska<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Specialist-Eco-consultant on behalf of the City of \u017bory, supervisory inspectors from the Investment Department of the City of \u017bory \u2013\u00a0Grzegorz Rynkiewicz<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Waldemar Karolczuk, Aneta Polok<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 director of Technical School No. 1 for them Nicolaus Copernicus and\u00a0Anna Gawe\u0142czyk-Kretek<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 director of Otylia J\u0119drzejczak \u00a0Primary School No. 4 with Sports Departments and Sports Championship.<\/p>\n During the conference, among others, what the project is about was explained.<\/p>\n The energy modernization of the buildings of two schools located in the city of \u017bory will be carried out, and the exact scope of the investment depends on the characteristics of the specific facility and the needs resulting from the energy audits carried out. These schools are the building of the Technical School No. 1, which already looks beautiful, and the building of the Otylia J\u0119drzejczak Primary School No. 4 with Sports Departments and the Sports Championship in \u017bory \u2013 said\u00a0Adrian Lubszczyk<\/strong>, head of the Department of Culture and Sport Promotion of \u017bory City Hall.<\/p>\n In addition to thermal modernization, the project also provides for the use of renewable energy sources \u2013 the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of both buildings, as well as the replacement of internal lighting in SP 4. As a result, after the completion of a complex of works, heat loss in the buildings will be reduced, which will allow for savings in terms of costs electricity and heat. An added effect of the project is the fact that thanks to the improvement of the energy efficiency of buildings, working and educational conditions will be improved in the institutions.<\/p>\n In addition to the investment activities themselves, a number of various activities are planned as part of the project, the aim of which is to increase knowledge and change thinking and behavior towards energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources. This includes, among other things, an ecological competition entitled \u201cGreen corner at school\u201d, where each school will be able to create its own vertical garden or pocket park. Special leaflets with all the most important information about the project were prepared for the participants of the conference. In addition, a walk around the grounds of Technical School No. 1 was held to see the effects of the work carried out.<\/p>\n Project \u201cComprehensive activities to improve the energy efficiency of the buildings of Primary School No. 4 and Secondary School No. 1 in \u017bory\u201d received funding from the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 under the program: \u201cEnvironment, Energy and Climate Change\u201d, program area: Energy.<\/p>\n The total value of the project is\u00a0PLN <\/strong>7 277 919,70<\/strong>.
