September 22 this year another workshop from the “Man-Energy-Environment” series will be held at the City Hall at Aleja Wojska Polskiego 25 in Żory as part of the project “Comprehensive actions to improve the energy efficiency of the buildings of Primary School No. 4 and Technical Secondary School No. 1 in Żory”, for which the City Żory obtained funding from the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 under the program: “Environment, Energy and Climate Change”, program area: Energy.
The workshops, which will be attended by 15 teachers from educational institutions in Żory, will be conducted by representatives of the Napraw Sobie Miasto Foundation from Katowice. During the classes, participants will deepen their knowledge, among others: in the field of climate education, the most difficult areas of transformation, they will learn how air quality affects the physiology of students and teachers, they will monitor the air. The result of the workshops will be the creation of ecological interest groups in 4 schools in Żory, examining the impact of energy choices on the environment.
Total value of the project: PLN 7,277,919.70.
The city obtained funding in the amount of: PLN 4,152,242.80, including:
– from the EEA Financial Mechanism: PLN 3,529,406.38
– from the state budget in the amount of PLN 622,836.42.
Estimated completion date of the project: April 2024.
